1011th Vietnam DVD's available at reunion

There will be a DVD movie of the 1011th's tour in Vietnam given to each unit member in attendance at the reunion this year.

Gwen and Gene Eidman have consolidated all of their 8 mm movies of Vietnam into one DVD that will be given out at the August reunion. This DVD shows, among other things, the unit loading out our equipment at Fort Benning, unloading it in Saigon, along with various company parties, life in the hooch, and also an overview of the culture and the people of Vietnam.

There will be a DVD slide show put together by Dan Kirk, that will also be given out at the August reunion. This DVD has many different pictures of our company area and Vietnam country side.

Both of these DVD's will be given to the unit members that are in attendance at the reunion. If extra copies are requested or if you are unable to attend the reunion, copies will be available for a small charge for the DVD and mailing costs.

Information for ordering these DVD's can be obtained from the reunion organizers, Larry Gales or Ron Worcester.

The time is quickly approaching for our 41st 1011th REUNION to be held in Emporia, Kansas, on the 28th and 29th of August, 2009.
Your committee is hoping for a larger than ever turnout this year since we will be celebrating our return home from Vietnam in 1969!!!
Friday, August 28th
4 P.M. - Midnight Social gathering at the Bluestem Room next to Annie’s West, located in the Best Western Hospitality House at 3021 W. Highway 50 in Emporia
There will be popcorn, pretzels, etc. provided.
Alcohol and soft drinks may be purchased at Annie’s West.
Casual dress.

Saturday, August 29th
Social hour beginning at 4 P.M. at the Courtyard of Best Western Hospitality House located at 3021 W. Highway 50 in Emporia
Cash bar
Opening ceremonies at 5:30 P.M.
Dinner at 6:00 P.M.

Please make reservations as soon as you can. The committee is asking that you indicate in the RSVP what day/days you will attend. If you are unable to make reservations by the deadline and later find you are able to attend, please feel free to join us after the meal on Saturday.
